You've chosen to have these people by your side on your wedding day for a reason. Wedding Party Introductions are the perfect way to ensure everyone knows who they are and why they're such an important part of your life.
In fact, it's one of the most common things guests mention after a ceremony. They love knowing who’s who, how you know them, and thanks to a few personal tidbits, they now have a sense of rapport. If they find themselves sitting near one of your wedding party members or standing next to them at the bar, they’ll have something to start a conversation.
I once had a bridesmaid who was obsessed with crocodiles. You can imagine how many croc stories she heard that night!
I’ve even had a few couples completely fabricate facts about their wedding party members. Memorably, I proudly announced that the groom’s brother was a gifted musician with opera prowess. As I was saying this, a sea of laughter grew from the crowd, and the look on his face was pure confusion – the joke was on me! Well played!!! I will honor that in the name of fun!
In my opinion as a marriage celebrant, if you're choosing to have these people stand by your sides, don't make them pose like a tree in a junior school play, call them out and show why they are the main characters of your wedding day!
